NDC suspends 3 constituency executives

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended three constituency executives in the Greater Accra Region, following their links with a group by name ‘Action Movement’ which held a press conference attacking some national executives for the party’s defeat in the 2016 elections.

The affected persons are Emmanuel Ashalley Tetteh, Communications Officer of Klottey Korle Constituency, Kozdo Keglo Hamenya, Secretary, Okaiko North and Stephen Affutu, Communications Officer, Okaikoi Central Constituency.

According to the NDC, its Functional Executive Committee at its meeting on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 after discussing the content of the press conference found it contrary to the code of conduct and disciplinary code of the party (Articles 45 and 46) of the NDC constitution.

A statement signed by General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said, “The Functional Executive Committee in exercise of powers conferred upon it by Article 46(1) and (2) of the party’s constitution, has suspended you from the party with immediate effect, pending a referral to the National Disciplinary Committee for further investigations.

“You are therefore to hold yourself in readiness for any invitation the Committee may extend to you to assist in their investigations,” the statement concluded.
