Burial took place at the weekend at Half-Assini public cemetery of late Mr John Nwea Ackah, affectionately called “NDC Ackah.” He was 80
Late Ackah, was former Bookshop Keeper of Half-Assini Senior High School and a keen supporter of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He was born on December 20, 1935 at Atwebanso near Half-Assini to the family of Egya Ekpale and Madam Akuba Azane Kyie both of blessed memory.
The deceased obtained Middle School Leaving Certificate in 1954 and taught as pupil teacher at Ekpu, Ahobre and Adusuazo District Council Primary Schools.
His teaching career was truncated when as a member of the then Young Pioneer, the organisation took him to Accra in the late 1950s.
Late Ackah later returned from Accra to resettle at Half-Assini when the Young Pioneer was disbanded and joined in construction of the Half-Assini Secondary school.
He was employed Bookshop Keeper on completion of the School in 1960, a position he held till retirement in 1986.
As a political activist, he supported the PNDC revolution and became leading member of Jomoro Constituency National Convention Party, which eventually merged with the NDC when Ghana returned to constitutional rule in 1992.
Late Ackah became a staunch member of the NDC Party at the area.
He left behind nine children and 50 grandchildren.
