NDC stops aspirant

Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicates that Mr Freeman Boateng Isaac, an aspiring parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Atiwa East in the Eastern Region, has threatened to place an injunction on the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries.

According to him, the First Vice Chairman of the party, Ofosu Ampofo, has conspired with the Eastern Regional NDC Chairman, Bismark Tawiah Boateng, to reject his forms because he is contesting Ampofo’s driver.

Addressing a press confab, Freeman Boateng said he could not pay the filing fee into the party’s account on the last day of filing nominations due to delays at the bank and as a result submitted his forms to the constituency secretary who accepted them and the physical cash at about 4:35 pm.

He said he later received a call from the secretary who told him that his nomination forms had been rejected by the regional secretariat, fingering the First Vice Chairman of the NDC as being behind it. He accused Ofosu Ampofo of pushing for one of his drivers, Foster Asante, who has also picked and filed his nomination, to go unopposed.
