NDC SRC sponsorship letter fake – NDC

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described as fake a letter purported to have been authored by its treasurer giving some financial assistance to a Students Representative Council (SRC) candidate in the upcoming University of Cape Coast elections.

A statement purported to be have been issued from the office of the NDC National Treasurer indicated a transfer of an amount of thirty thousand Ghana Cedis (GH ¢30,000) which had been deposited into the account of one Mr. Francis Kwabena Arthur for onward disbursement.

According to the letter, the beneficiary is a candidate Theophilus Saki Sosi in the upcoming UCC SRC elections who upon winning is expected to fulfill a promise to press for government utilities estimates and also to push NDC preferred candidates during NUGS and USAG congresses.

The party also promised to work assiduously behind the scenes to ensure the realization ofTtheophilus’ agenda.

But in an interview with Kasapa FM’s Maame Broni, the NDC National Treasurer Abdallah Ahmed Abdallah denied issuing such statement.

According to him, the signature on the “fake” statement does not belong to him neither is the name on the said statement. He explained that, if the NDC is interested in sponsoring a candidate, such a request would have come from the youth organizer hence the funds released to that office and not a third party.

Alhaji Abdallah noted his party does not need the UCC SRC elections to communicate to Ghanaians for the ‘Green book’ is a good ambassador.

He has therefore entreated the public to treat the statement as fake.
