NDC serial callers on strike

The twenty-five member National Democratic Congress (NDC) party Serial Callers Association in the Kwahu area, have embarked on an indefinite strike until their demand for financial and logistics support to enhance their activities are met.

The members of the Association from the Kwahu West Municipality, Kwahu South, Kwahu East, Kwahu Afram Plains South and the Kwahu North Districts have for the past two weeks stopped calling the various radio stations to propagate the activities of the party until their grievances are attended to.

The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Emmanuel Atta Obeng, popularly known as Soborae, made this known at a general meeting of the association at Mpraeso.

He said they have sent a petition to the executives of the party in Accra for financial and logistic assistant to enhance their operations.

Mr. Obeng, who is also the Mpraeso Constituency Chairman of the party, said the Serial Callers have used their own resource to purchase mobile phones and credit for their operations for the past 14 years since the party was in opposition.

He said the members of the association, who are farmers, fishermen, drivers and traders are appealing for tricycles, outboard motors and vehicles to buy on high purchase and loans to enhance their business activities and support their activities for the party.

The secretary of the association, Mr. Simon Horsu said the serial callers were prepared to intensify their activities for the party if their demands were met.

When the Kwahu South District Chief Executive Mr. Joseph Omari was contacted, he said the activities of serial callers were voluntary and said they should be assisted to enhance their duties towards the development of the party.
