NDC selects candidate to contest Nkawkaw constituency

Nkawkaw, Sept. 2, GNA- The National Democratic Congress (NDC), has elected Joseph Nkansah Boamah to contest the Nkawkaw constituency seat, at the party’s delegates’ conference at Nkawkaw.

All the 115 delegates by popular acclamation selected the 60-year-old Ghanaian based in Germany to contest the seat. He thanked the delegates and Executives of the party for the confidence reposed in him and promised to win the seat for the party. Mr Boamah said he would ensure the provision of educational infrastructure and computers to basic schools to improve the standard of education in the constituency if given the nod in 2008 Election. He said he would also initiate a scholarship scheme to assist needy but brilliant second cycle students to enable them to attend school up to the University.

Mr Boamah criticised government for its poor economic policies, which he said had led to the worsening standard of living of Ghanaians and called on the electorate to reject the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December polls.

Mr Raphael Kofi Ahelaga, Member of Parliament for Afram Plains South, urged NDC supporters to intensify their campaign for a change of government to improve the standard of living of the people. He also asked them to check their names in the voters register during the exhibition period. Mr Bismarck Tawiah Boateng, the Eastern Regional Organizer of NDC, urged Ghanaians to vote against the NPP in the polls.
