NDC Regional Chairmen declare support for Mills in Election 2012

Accra, June 11, GNA – Regional chairmen of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have declared their support for President John Evans Atta Mills to lead the party in the 2012 general elections. “We want to stay focused and put our shoulders to the wheel for the success of the Better Ghana agenda; we hope and pray we’ll see you in the saddle for 2012 to complete the good works you have started”, Mr Kobina Ade Coker, Greater Accra Regional Chairman, who led the Regional Chairmen, assured the President.

The party’s Chairmen declared their support when they paid a courtesy call on the President at the Osu Castle in Accra. They expressed their unflinching support to the Government, the NDC and its sympathizers and pledged to work for the success of the development programmes being pursued by President Mills to improve the living standards of Ghanaians.

President Mills said it was “reassuring to have their expression of support.” He described the visit as an honour and privilege, and referred to the chairmen as dedicated and committed. He reiterated that Government owed it a sacred duty to ensure that the resources of state were used to improve the lives of the people.
