NDC primaries: Mahama to file nomination Monday

President John Mahama will on Monday September 7 file his nomination for the upcoming presidential primaries of the ruling National Democratic Congress, a statement from the office of the party’s General Secretary has said.

It is unclear if the President will present the forms himself since it was picked on his behalf by Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur Thursday.

The form has reportedly received endorsement from the required number of regional executives across the country as demanded by the NDC’s constitution.

This will be the second time the President will be leading the NDC as the party’s presidential candidate if he wins the primaries.

He is expected to be contested by a former constituency executive of the party George Boateng who has hinted he will pick the approved presidential forms Monday after executives contested the validity of the initial one he bought.

The ruling Party has set November 7 for its parliamentary and Presidential primaries.
