NDC polls: Kofi Adams whips Boateng Gyan in National Org. race

Spokesperson for former President Rawlings, Kofi Adams has secured a landslide victory in the national organiser race of the ruling National Democratic Congress.

Adams garnered 2,547 out of the 3,359 total number of expected votes as against 743 secured by the incumbent Yaw Boateng Gyan at the 8th Congress of the party per certified results declared by the EC.

Counting of votes for other key positions such as the National Chairman is still underway at the Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.

Adams until his election Saturday, December 20, was the first deputy general secretary of the governing party.

The national organiser position was one of the keenly contested slots of the NDC.

Before the elections, key personalities , including former President Rawlings had declared support for the candidature of his aide.
