NDC Poll: No elections in six constituencies

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has cancelled elections in six constituencies as a result of outstanding issues to do with its parliamentary primaries.

The party goes to the poll today to elect its 2016 parliamentary candidates as well as endorse President John Dramani Mahama as flagbearer for the second time.
The party has, however, called for the suspension of polls in Ketu South, North Tongu and Nkwanta South constituencies in the Volta Region.

Akwatia Constituency in the Eastern Region, Chiana Paga Constituency in the Upper East Region and Bunkpurugu Constituency in the Northern Region will have no elections either.

While elections have been stopped in some of the constituencies as a result of court actions, others have been suspended due to incomplete vetting processes.

Meanwhile, elections have already been held in Amenfi West Constituency in the Western Region as a pilot of the new process biometric the party has employed.
