NDC parliamentary candidate for Shai Osudoku dead

The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Shai Osudoku Constituency, William Ocloo is dead following an accident last night.

Desmond William Ocloo died instantly in a head-on crash with another vehicle on the Juaso-Kumasi road around 11pm on Thursday March 3, as he drove to Kumasi.

Mr Anthony Nukpenu, the NDC’s deputy Greater Accra regional Youth Organiser told the breakfast shows of both Class91.3fm and Accra100.5fm in separate interviews on Friday March 4 that “our brother and parliamentary candidate for the Shai Osudoku constituency lost his life in a road accident”.

William Ocloo beat incumbent David Tetteh Assumeng (1280) in the primary by polling 4,350. Two other contenders: Dr. Kpessah Whyte and Ebenezer Adzakli polled 3,189, and 393, respectively.

Mr Ocloo’s death means the NDC would have to re-run the primary in the constituency to elect a new candidate for the November polls.
