NDC officials deceiving Mahama, Ghanaians – NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Eastern Region has accused officials of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of dishonesty and trying to mislead President John Mahama and residents of the region.

In a press statement, Nana Addo Kenneth, Okere constituency secretary of the NPP, stated: “With President Mahama’s impending visit to the constituency, the NDC and the district assembly are quickly fixing an ICT Resource Centre that was put up four years ago but was abandoned and left to rot.”

He explained that “realising that there would be nothing to show to the people of Okere and to tout in the media as an achievement of President Mahama, they have placed workers on site working day and night so that President Mahama would come and commission during his visit”.

According to him, there would be the need to bring to the attention of the general public that the ICT Resource Centre at Dawu was built four years ago and stocked with computers but never became operational to the public.

“It rather became the sleeping place of NDC footsoldiers as well as a washing bay. The MCE (Municipal Chief Executives) about a year ago also came to take away all the computers for obvious reasons,” he alleged.

He further explained that the building was recently discovered to have serious cracks, indicating a “very shoddy” work done by the people who put up the structure.
