NDC & NPP Preaching Peace In Atlanta

On Sunday August 25th 2013, all members of the Ghanaian community in Atlanta Georgia USA gathered together in the main sanctuary of the Church of Pentecost in Mableton near Atlanta Georgia to pray for peace before and after the coming Supreme Court ruling on the election petition brought by the main opposition NPP in Ghana.

The highly attended and successful prayer vigil was spearheaded by the NDC Atlanta and the NPP Atlanta.

In his sermon, the Presiding Minister of the Church of Pentecost in Atlanta Georgia Rev. John Ofori reminds all present that, first and foremost we are Ghanaians before we became members of NPP or NDC. ‘We must learn to agree to disagree on every issue in life and if the going gets tough so that you can’t even bear to the outcome of the ruling, go on your knees and pray to your maker. You know somebody has to win and it may be your party or your brother’s party but remember he won to steer affairs of Ghana for four years and your day may come one day. We pray that God’s will be done’ Said Rev John Ofori. After an intensive ten minutes prayer for peace to prevail in Ghana, the Chairman of NDC Atlanta Mr. Richard Aikins thanked the church for accepting to host the prayer vigil. He then added his voice to the pastor’s call for peace before and after the ruling.

On his part, the Acting Chairman of NPP Atlanta Mr. George Awuku pleaded with Ghanaians in the diaspora to call relatives in Ghana to seek Gods guidance in the wake of the ruling on August 29th 2013, and said whoever wins, wins for Ghana.
