NDC, NPP not interested in single database; they want to cheat in elections – Ace Akomah

A respected legal practitioner and a member of Occupy Ghana, Ace Ankomah has said both NDC and NPP are not ready for a single database to make Ghana’s voters register credible because they want to cheat in elections.

The lawyer who has been advocating for single database for Ghana since 2015 said political leaders and appropriate bodies who have the power to make it happen have totally ignored the idea.

Commenting on the recent Supreme court ruling on the voters register, Mr Ankomah said the only way forward is neither a new voters register, verification or auditing of register but politicians must walk the talk by merging all ID cards into a single database to do away with election related disputes.

¨Whilst I was advocating for single database, my attention was drawn to the fact that in 2014 President Mahama had said the same thing but because of greed, election rigging, witchcraft, wickedness and corruption the politicians are simply not ready to do this¨. Mr Ankomah said.
