Mr. Yaw Opoku, Sunyani Municipal Electoral Officer on Thursday said three political parties and an independent candidate had so far picked nomination forms to contest Parliamentary seats in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The political parties are the New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Peoples Progressive Party (PPP), Mr. Opoku told the GNA in an interview.

He said the nominations forms were opened on September 17 and expected to close on October 18.

Mr. Opoku said transfer of votes was opened on October 1 and expected to close on October 20, adding “Before one is eligible to make transfer of votes, he must have been in his new constituency for not less than two months”.

He said the Municipality had only one constituency, Sunyani East with 34 electoral areas.

On the exhibition of the Biometric Voters Register, Mr. Opoku said it was outstanding because it was the first time the highest percentage turn-out had been achieved with a total verification of 47.35 per cent.
