NDC nomination forms for orphaned constituencies opened

but forms not yet ready

Even though the National Democratic Congress has opened nominations for orphan constituencies for aspiring members of parliament from Tuesday August 16, 2011, checks conducted by Xfm 95.1 have revealed that, the forms are not ready. When contacted, the National Deputy Organiser, Alhaji Sherrif, who confirmed the news to Xfm said, the date has been postponed till tomorrow, August 17, 2011 because of some technical hitch with the printing. He said, ³in the forms there is a portion that anyone who wants to contest the primaries of the NDC in every constituency is someone who had worked with the party or is known to be a committed member of the constituency for not less than four years, but in actual fact in our constitution it is two years, so we need to rectify that². Consequently, this he said, has created a problem that the party needs to rectify. Alhaji Sheriff is therefore imploring the aspirants to be patient with them. He has assured the national secretaries and aspirants that the forms would be ready by the end of the day and would be forwarded to them in their various constituencies, saying, ³rest assured we will have the papers today². The National Deputy Organizer apologised for the delay.
