NDC New York congratulates President & Veep

The Chairman of the NDC New York Branch, Alhaji Abass Adamu has extended his warmest congratulatory message to Mr. John Dramani Mahama and Mr. Amissah-Arthur and commended the National Executive Committee (NEC)and the Council of Elders of the party for their unanimous decision to endorse Mr. John Dramani Mahama as the party’s candidate for December general elections. The president will officially be introduced at a special delegate congress on September 1st 2012 to the party without any glitches.

He said this is necessary because there is no much time on the party’s side and it appears obvious that, Mr. Mahama and Mr. Amissah have both carved enviable niche for themselves, since they have both risen through the ranks as committed, vibrant and dynamic members of the party.
Alhaji Abass who is also the Vice-Chairman of the NDC USA lamented that, even though the party had lost its heroic and dedicated leader, his lost might be a blessing in disguise as a symbol of peace, christened ‘Assamdwe Hene’ , whose life might have been sacrificed by God to unite the rank and file of the party.
He therefore urged the critics of the late president and leaders of the party to drive lessons from his life which was replete with tolerance and tranquility, bearing in mind that perfection is not in the human world and difference of opinion should not be a benchmark to infuse enmity between us.
The Chairman stated that Ghanaians should reflect on the commendation from the US President Barrack Obama who said in his condolence that, “President Mills tirelessly worked to improve the lives of the Ghanaian people. He helped promote economic growth in Ghanaian the midst of challenging global circumstances and strengthened Ghana’s strong tradition of democracy…a strong advocate for human rights and for the fair treatment of all Ghanaians.”
Alhaji Abass is of the conviction that, President Mahama will undoubtedly carry on with this enviable good deeds of his predecessor and go the extra mile to achieve more. He therefore urged Ghanaians to renew the mandate of the NDC under his leadership to enable him carry on with the developmental projects started by the late president to implement his better Ghana agenda.
He implored the rank and file of party to beware of complacency, thinking they could depend on sympathy votes dues to the lost of their flag bear, adding that, they should rather be pragmatic and proactive in their campaign, by show-casing to the electorates the track records of the socio-economic development achieved by late President Mills and express their willingness and commitment to continue from where the late President left off.
