NDC must fulfil all campaign promises- Chief

Ajumako (C/R) July 11 GNA- Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief executives, have been called upon to adopt policies that promote development, instead of lording over the people. The Omanhene of Ajumako Traditional Area and President of the Traditional Council, Okokodrufo Nana Hammah Ababio II who make the call explained that it was the “power of the thumb” that brought them to their present positions.

He was speaking during an interaction with the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Light Koomson, who called on him to introduce himself to members of the Traditional Council at Ajumako.

“You should therefore plan development project to improve the living conditions of the people,” he stressed. The DCE was accompanied by Mr J. K. Kussachin, District Co-ordinating Director and some officials of the District Assembly. Okokodrufo Ababio called on the government to fulfil all the campaign promises it made to the people, adding that the four-year mandate given to the ruling National Democratic Congress may end soon. Mr Koomson expressed his appreciation to the traditional council and the people of the district and assured that he will not let them down.

The DCE said the financial situation of the Assembly “was nothing to write home about at the time of his assumption of office, but promised that he would work hard to improve on the situation”. He assured the chiefs that when the financial situation of the assembly improves the chiefs and people would get their fair share of development.

Mr Koomson urged the people to take education very seriously because it is key to their development.
