NDC members urged to remain steadfast, resolute and united

Ashaiman, May 23, GNA – Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, Minister of State at the Presidency, at the weekend called on members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain steadfast, resolute and united. He reminded them that it was only through unity that the party could be confident of retaining power in 2012.

Nii Agbo made the call at a Conference held by the Ashaiman Constituency branch of the party to elect officers to steer affairs for the next couple of years. He assured the constituents that nobody in the party could impose leaders on them, and therefore, urged them to organize the party at the grassroots so that it would be firm on the ground.

Nii Agbo, who is also the Member of Parliament for Kpone-Katamanso, asked the people to rally solidly behind the executive members they had selected so that with a united front, the seat could be retained come the 2012 general elections. He pledged the determination of the leaders of the NDC to support the various constituencies in order to make the party solid and firm at the grassroots. With the exception of the Women Organiser, who retained her seat, all the constituency executives lost their positions in the elections.
