NDC members urged to gird their loins to re-build the party.

Alhaji Sulemana Gado, Chairman of Asokwa East branch the National Democratic Congress (NDC), at the weekend called on members to gird their loins and help in the re-organisation of the party.

He said the NDC was not against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) but there was evidence to show that the NDC is the only party that could work towards the socio-economic development of the country.

Alhaji Gado was addressing a meeting of the Asokwa East out-going and in-coming executives of the party at Aboabo in Kumasi.

The meeting was to afford the old executives to formally hand over to the new ones and share ideas on the re-organisation of the party.

“This is the time members should help to re-build the party, people should not sit on the fence for others to do it before they come in to fight for leadership positions”, he stressed.

Alhaji Gado said his administration would be transparent and lead members to undertake clean-up exercise and tackle health-related issues alongside their political campaign programmes.

Alhaji Osman Yahaya, the out-going Vice-Chairman observed that the task ahead was enormous and advised the new executives to eschew squabbles and live in peace.

“You have to be very tolerant and courageous at all levels if you want to ensure peace, unity and love in the party for it to win 2004 general elections”.

Oheneba Kwame Kyem, Atwima-Kwanwoma Chairman of the party advised the executives to avoid practices and attitudes that would divide their ranks.

Hajia Dwumma, former executive member, in-charge of women’s affairs said members should not bother about insults and ridicule from opposing parties.
