NDC members simply want to besmear Gov’t – Mpraeso MP cautions

Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, Hon Seth Acheampong has urged Majority members in Parliament in particular and the government, in general, to be wary of the wiles of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Hon. Acheampong advised his colleague legislators not to fall into the trap of the opposition because they would do everything possible to derail the current administration.

According to him, members of ruling New Patriotic Party should watch their tongue and response to issues broached by the opposition NDC.

Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo regarding the bribery allegation levelled against the Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, the Mpraeso MP said he has a strong conviction that Boakye Agyarko’s accusers will be brought to shame.

“They want to falsely accuse us of corruption and bribery before the end of our administration. But it won’t work today or tomorrow. We know them pretty well…I strongly believe some people want to smear Boakye Agyarko’s name.”

He, however, called for a probe into the issue, saying “I won’t say Osei-Owusu has done anything wrong. I won’t say Ayariga has committed a crime . . . I’m not holding brief for anybody . . . I’m calling for a probe and when we delve into the issue, then we will know who’s guilty and who’s not.”
