NDC member advises aspirants

Nkoranza (B/A), Aug 13, GNA – Mr. Isaac Asirifi-Kudom, a leading member of the National Democratic Congress in the Nkoranza South constituency has advised the party’s parliamentary aspirants in the area to avoid insults and provocative statements during their campaigns. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Nkoranza, he said as members of the same party they rather need to support whoever would be given the nod as the parliamentary candidate. The candidates for the primaries are Mr. James Opoku Worae, 60, an educationist, Mr. Kwaku Poku Boah, 60, a legal practitioner and Mr. Emmanuel Agyekum, 45, a business student in London.

Mr. Asirifi-Kudom said the party members were working hard and are involved in a house-to-house campaign to woo more members. He urged the constituency delegates to critically examine the manifestoes of the aspirants and assess them before voting for the right person to ensure victory for the party in the constituency in the 2008 elections.

He urged the candidates to mobilize the necessary resources and logistics for a vigorous electioneering campaign in the communities. “The defeat of the NDC in the 2000 and 2004 elections is enough experience for the leadership of the party to adopt proper strategies that would enable the party to regain power in 2008”, Mr. Asirifi-Kudom added.
