NDC man offers coffin for Kennedy Agyapong’s burial

A member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has offered to bear the cost for the coffin of New Patriotic Party (NPP) firebrand Kennedy Agyapong if he still insists on poisoning himself to death.

Asafo Agyei has pledged to personally purchase a coffin for his burial provided he carries through his promise of poisoning himself if Ibrahim Mahama, brother of former President John Dramani Mahama is not incarcerated.

While calling on security agencies to put the Assin Central lawmaker on suicide watch he reiterated his pledge to buy a coffin for his burial if he succeeds in poisoning himself even before the security agencies are alerted.

“I will buy a coffin for Kennedy to be buried in. Family members should get ready for his funeral” the NDC man told a colleague panelist on the show on Kumasi-based Abusua Fm.

According to him, there is no way Ibrahim Mahama could be jailed taking into account the facts on the ground calling on the lawmaker to either withdraw and apologise for his comments or they will force him to die as he promised.

Ibrahim Mahama, who is the brother of former President John Mahama, is at the centre of an import scandal which has persisted in the media since last week after being invited by Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

He was subsequently ordered to pay GH¢12.7m to the Ghana Revenue Authority by May 8, 2017.

The amount represents duty for goods he cleared at the Tema Port with the said dud cheques in 2015 plus interest. The interest on the amount was worked by the Ghana Revenue Authority
