NDC is positioning Ghana towards chaos – Atik Mohammed

A policy analyst of People’s National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed, has attributed the controversy surrounding the number of pink sheets supposed to be in the vault of the Supreme Court Registry, to be a deliberate attempt by the NDC to position this country towards chaos.

In an effort to establish his statement, Atik Mohammed said that the NDC has begun to raise such uninformed allegations and red flags about bloating of pink sheets boxes because they are sensing that victory seems to be far away from them.

Speaking on Okay FM, he said that the NDC is beginning to create the impression that there are flaws with the process and there seem to be some bias on the part of some elements which did not help them in their course; this is the idea the NDC is painting in the minds of their supporters if they lose the case.

He said that such trend is building faster as people are beginning to buy the allegation of the NDC over the bloating of pink sheets at the registry so that it will be on the records of their supporters that there was some connivance between the Supreme Court Registry and the petitioners.

He, however, said that his statement is not any way prejudicing the outcome of the ruling in favour of the petitioners but insisted that the NDC machinery are positioning this country gradually towards chaos because they are sensing defeat ahead of the ruling of the Supreme Court judges.

He further said that some of the NDC lawyers were giving accounts of things they did not know because they could not give a detailed account of the number of boxes which they are alleging to have been added; in that, the NDC do not have any reason to pollute the environment with their uninformed comments.

“If you can’t trust the registrar then it means that you don’t trust the court system”, he enlightened; adding that all the exhibits are with the court registrar and that they have exclusive access to the vault.

He, therefore, said what the NDC is doing is a face-saving exercise because their earlier allegation is that the number of pink sheets they have received did not tally with what has been reported to be in the custody of the registry.
