Ho, March 22, GNA – Mr Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa, a Deputy Information Minister, has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was not a “looting brigade” but a hard working political party destined to bring comfort to the underprivileged.
“We are in business not to share any booty but are here to serve and improve on the living standards of the people”, he said.
Mr Okudzeto-Ablakwa said this at the close of the National Youth Summit of the NDC in Ho.
He said the party was averse to the New Patriotic Party’s philosophy of a property owning democracy that sought to hijack the nation’s wealth for the few.
Mr Okudzeto-Ablakwa said the ideals of the NDC, strongly knotted on social democratic credentials, are based on probity, accountability and transparency.
He said these tendencies were being espoused by President John E. A. Mills and other fore bearers, which is a resource for youth empowerment. The Deputy Minister reminded the youth that “our efforts would pay off later. Service is about sacrifice, let us therefore serve the people and all others would come along.”
Mr Okudzeto-Ablakwa appealed to the youth to demonstrate unalloyed commitment to the party, renew the spirit of camaderie and be steadfast a= s they remained the future leaders of the country. 22 March 10
