The International Relations Director of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Hon. Kofi Attor has called on Ghanaians living abroad to “uphold the good image of Ghana in their respective host countries. Mr Attor said there was nothing honourable than “behaving well and abiding by the laws of a foreign country.” The former Ho Central Member of Parliament was speaking at the Inauguration of the NDC chapter in Lausanne, Bordonnet, Switzerland on Saturday. He urged members to “attend meetings, pay their dues to enable the branch stay stronger and expand.”
The Chairman of NDC in Switzerland on his part called on Ghanaians to remain solidly behind the NDC. He said the NDC is the party that is honest with the people of Ghana. Mr. Albert Kwasi-Kuma Adzayi said he was happy the people of Ghana made a choice between the NDC, “a party that provides opportunity for all” and the NPP “a party that provided hope for family members and only friends.”
Mr. Adzayi challenged Ghanaians in the Diaspora to avail themselves to opportunities in host nations. He said Ghanaians should “not copy blindly the notion of Western democracy. We need to take part in the democratic process of our host nations.”
The forty-six year old Chairman said the challenge of his chapter is to “bring together NDC members in Switzerland and to make our party more attractive to new members.” He said the party would help Ghanaians who are yet to be integrated into the Swiss society and encouraged Ghanaians living in Switzerland to “take up membership of the NDC.”
Before his election, Mr. Albert Kwasi Kuma Adzayi was a member of Swiss canton de Vaud assembly of Le Chenit(Swiss National Assembly) for pass 7years. He is a Federal Translator working for the Swiss Government and founder of the Association of Africans in Le Vallée de Joux in the Canton de Vaud.
Albert Adzayi was a founding member and the first Chairman of Ghanaians Overseas Resident Association (GORA), a member of Ghanaian Association of Vaud, and one of the initiators of the Ewe Association of Switzerland.
