NDC In Secret Talks With Samia!

With the participation of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) founder Jerry John Rawlings in the 2012 electioneering campaign in doubt, ranking members of the NDC are desperately looking for ways of adding more numbers into its fold.

With defeat staring them in the face in next year’s general elections top hierarchy of the NDC party have moved in to woo the national chairperson of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Samia Nkrumah, to join them for the 2012 general elections, says Ernest Owusu Bempah.

According to the leading FONKAR member, some NDC top gurus including Ato Ahwoi and prodigal son Obed Asamoah as well as other kingpins at the Castle met Samia Nkrumah on Monday in Accra.

According to the vociferous Owusu Bempah, the agenda for the meeting was to coerce Samia Nkrumah to ensure that the party does not hold any presidential primaries to elect a presidential candidate. The NDC member stated that the strategy of the NDC is to help CPP put structures in place to forestall any shock and reduction in numbers of their members at the grassroots of the party should former president Rawlings decide not to campaign for them.

Rumours are rife that the NDC sponsored Samia Nkrumah in winning the position she presently occupies and so its pay-back time. With incessant pressure mounting on the current executives of the CPP by almost all constituencies of the party calling on executives to organize the presidential primaries which has been unduly delayed with no official reason communicated to members, political observers are watching with eagle eyes whether the CPP will kowtow to the demands of the NDC.
