NDC Forum demonstration put on hold

Accra, Jan 20, GNA – The demonstration scheduled for Tuesday 20th January by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Forum has been put on hold. A statement in Accra on Monday, signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kwasi Ofori, Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, said this was mutually agreed upon following an emergency meeting between the Police Administration and the Executives of the Forum, in Accra on Monday.

It said the position was reached due to the Inter-Party Meeting scheduled by the authorities of Ghana Television (GTV) to be held on Wednesday 21st January to discuss issues concerning “equal air time” for all Political Parties. The statement said the Police Administration had also arranged a meeting between the Executives of the Forum and the authorities of GTV on Tuesday, 20th January to address the concerns of the latter.
