NDC fond of appointing uncivilized persons – MP

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkoranza North Major Derek Oduro has posited that the current administration is fond of appointing uncivilized persons as ministers and deputies.

The member of the Privileges Committee in Parliament in an interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM said, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is now a party with the record of rewarding persons who attack and use abusive language.

He was speaking in relations to the audio tape allegedly containing the voice of Hon. Oti Bless, MP for Nkwanta North Constituency and deputy Local Government Minister nominee attacking and making allegations against the Chief Justice. The legislator in the said tape accused the lady Chief Justice of ”conniving” with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in an attempt to overturn the election results in 2008 and 2012 among other allegations.

Responding to the comments, Hon. Major Derek Oduro said the statement is unfortunate and any action to be taken against the said comments, interested individuals should petition the Speaker so he will refer the matter to the Privileges Committee for further action. He said the statement is unfortunate and uncalled for.

According to him, the legislator will live with the unfortunate statement all his life and it may also affect his chances of any international appointment for disgracing the country.

In a related development, Richard Asante Yeboah a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has petitioned the Speaker of Parliament to reject Hon. Oti Bless’ appointment as deputy minister for the Local Government Ministry.
