NDC EUROPE Wishes Ghanaians A Merry X’mas and A Happy 2012
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our numerous members and supporters across Europe from Norway to Spain on efforts made financially and personally towards the strengthening of the NDC EUROPE Group and the NDC Party. NDC Europe is a network of NDC branches in Europe which presently includes Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Norway and Italy. It aims to strengthen the structures of the NDC Party in Europe and Ghana, build our alliances with mainstream EU Socialist Parties with the aim of enhancing the Democracy and Governance system in Ghana.
Over the last few years NDC Europe has been growing from strength to strength. It is our aim that in 2011 we would have other European countries added to our growing network of Branches with a special focus on members in Belgium, France, Austria and Spain.
In the coming year we will also be rolling out a series of programmes targeted at enhancing the capabilities and competencies of the NDC Constituency Branches across Ghana. Democracy is not just a laudable sentiment. In fact, the promotion of genuine democracy and respect for human rights is a determining factor in the attainment of sustainable human development and lasting peace in Ghana and across our African continent. That is why the NDC EU Group would continue to support our Party in this area, such as promoting the right to participate in the establishment of governments through free and fair elections, as well as strengthening the role of our Parliamentarians, University Partners and the various Constituencies. These actions can make a major contribution to our peace, security, prevention of conflicts and our long-term Prosperity. There would still be a lot to do in the development of the various processes to build a viable and sustainable Party to contribute to the sustainable development of Ghana.
In the coming year we aim to implement a number of projects in Ghana amongst which includes helping to mobilize Ghanaians in Europe to contribute towards a successful Constitutional Reform Project in Ghana, twinning programmes between NDC Constituencies in Ghana and other Constituencies amongst our Socialist Partners in Europe.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all Ghanaians a very Merry Christmas, the Very Best of an Atta-Mills Govt and the successful re-election of the NDC Government by the Ghanaian electorate in 2012.
