NDC Europe Encourages Ghanaian Youth to Have Hope in the Future

Ghanaian Youth have been encouraged to look up the challenges of the future and see it as opportunities to carve a niche meet modern challenges. Speaking to the Executives of the Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN) of the NDC at the Univ. of Ghana Campus at Legon on Wednesday, Chris Addy-Nayo of NDC Europe urged the Executives and youth to develop the necessary competencies and diversed skills which will enable them to be competitive in the current global economy. He urged them not to see politics as a zero sum game but rather an avenue to contribute to the welfare and dignity of society.

He explained the rational behind NDC Europe which includes the need to network and leverages the diverse skills of NDC Members in Europe to strengthen the NDC Party and Democratic Governance in Ghana and to build alliances with Socialist Parties in Europe to influence European Policies which impacts on Ghana and Africa as a whole.

Mr Ras Mubarak an NDC Advocate who was also present at the meeting encouraged the Executives and Ghanaian Youth to have faith in their abilities to meet the challenges of the future. He advised that as a young man or woman coming out of the Univ the prospects beyond the walls of the classroom does look daunting but challenged them to see this as an opportunity to carve niches for themselves in the bigger outside world.

The Executives in response shared their concerns and aspirations about the future. They expressed concerns about the growing graduate unemployment crises in the country and the need for government to provide structures which will facilitate the entry of graduate students into the job market.

Chris promised to discuss with NDC Europe members on innovative ways to incorporate TEIN members in its programmes both in Europe and Ghana to facilitate skills transfer to enhance their capabilities for both self and national development.
