The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Alidu Seidu has accused elements within the opposition National Democratic (NDC) of thwarting development in the area.
According to him, some faceless NDC constituency executives there are always bent on ensuring there is no enough development with him as MCE for fear could spell doom for their electoral fortunes in future.
“I know some people who are pulling strings day and night just because the person wants to be MP for this area again”, Hon. Alidu Seidu stated.
“That person is doing things that will make Nana Akufo-Addo and me MCE unpopular because of next general election”, the MCE and 2016 parliamentary candidate for the area spoke on a local radio station.
Hon. Alidu Seidu concern comes at the time some youth in the constituency believed to be supporters of NDC lawmaker for the area, Hon. Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak are kicking against development of a bus terminal there.
According to the aggrieved youth, they are not allowing the project to take off since the place is earmarked for a school and playing ground.
The angry youth on Nhyira hosted by Kofi Asante Ennin vowed to resist all moves by the local authorities to develop the place for commercial businesses threatening to shed the blood of the MCE, Alidu Seidu if he defied their warnings.
