NDC delegation leaves for Greece

Accra, June 30, GNA – A five member delegation of the Nationa; Democratic Congress (NDC) left Accra last night for Athens, Greece to attend the XIII Congress of the Socialist International Forum from June 30 to July 3, this year. The General Secretary of the party, Mr Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah is leading the delegation, which include Mr Kofi Attor, Director of International Relations, Professor Kofi Awoonor, a leading member of the party.

According to a statement signed by Ms Hannah Tetteh, NDC Communications Director, the delegation would be accepted and inducted as full members of Socialist International on behalf of the NDC. The statement said the delegation would continue to Spain at the invitation of the ruling Party of Spain, the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE), to attend their 37th Congress. The delegation would deliver a special message from the flagbearer of the Party, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, to the leader of the PSOE and hold high level consultations with their leadership behind closed doors.

Mr. Baba Jamal, Deputy General Secretary who would act as General Secretary of the party saw the delegation off at the Kotoka International Airport. 30 June 08
