NDC constituency chairman dies

Akwatia (E/R), April 26, GNA – The death is reported of the Akwatia constituency chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Kenneth Asare Larbi at the Akwatia St. Dominic’s Hospital on Sunday. Mr Larbi, 40, who operated a drug store, held the position of chairman for eight years.

He was married and had four children.

A family spokesman said funeral arrangements would be announced later.

In a brief comment, two constituency executive members of the NDC, Nana Kofi Ankomah, treasurer and Mr Yusif Benjin, propaganda secretary, described Mr Larbi’s death as a great loss and that it had created a vacuum that would be difficult to fill.

They said he was a dynamic and easily approachable chairman who had the party at heart.

He will be remembered for using his own resources to build the party without even asking to be refunded, they said, adding that he had also put structures in place to enable the NDC to win back the constituency seat, which it lost to the NPP in 2000.
