NDC congress: 1st ballot spot divine sign of beckoning victory – Abodakpi

Former Member of Parliament for Keta, Dan Abodakpi has said his choice of the number one spot on the ballot paper for the governing party’s forthcoming national delegates congress scheduled for December 20, 2014 in Kumasi, is a divine sign of beckoning victory.

“The number one position is the hand of God at work,” the former Minister of Trade and Industry told Journalists at the National Democratic Congress’s headquarters in Accra Tuesday.

According to him, “victory is at hand, and that the outcome of the December 20 congress would only be a manifestation of what God has already approved.”

Abodakpi’s other contestants include incumbent Dr Kwabena Adjei, Chairman of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Kofi Portuphy and current Vice Chairman Huudu Yahaya.

They picked the fourth, second and third positions in that order on the ballot paper.

Dr Adjei told journalists that: “The prospects are great, you wait and see,” adding that: “If I wouldn’t win, I wouldn’t have stood.”

For the General Secretary position, entrant Abdul Ishaq Farrakhan got the first position on the ballot paper while the incumbent, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, picked the second spot.

As far as the Organiser slot is concerned, former President Jerry Rawlings’ Spokesperson Kofi Adams picked the first slot followed by Aboagye Didieye with the third position picked by the incumbent Yaw Boateng Gyan.
