NDC condemns act of arson.

Accra, Mar.1, GNA – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned the attempted arson on Mr Mohammed Aboagye, youth activist of the party in Tamale.

“We unreservedly condemn the act and wish to call on our supporters, especially the youth to remain calm in the face of the needless provocation”.

The condemnation contained in a statement issued in Accra, on Monday by the Party and signed by Mr Haruna Iddrisu, National Youth Organizer of the Party, said, it was carried out by unidentified assailants The statement said the Party is aware of the desperate attempts by some selfish persons to ensure that peace does not return to Dagbon and that the people of Tamale should not have their freedom.

It said the assailants poured petrol on Mr Aboagye, who until recently, a Joy FM correspondent in Tamale but failed to set him ablaze after a struggle with them.

The Statement said it is significant to note that Mohammed Aboagye was a panellist on a radio programme and also known to be a critic of the ruling NPP government, the statement added.
