NDC China Mourns the Death of Squadron Leader Clend Sowu

We, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) members in China have received with deep shock the reported death of the late Squadron leader Clend Sowu who was a leading member of the NDC fraternity, a founding member of our great party (NDC), a member of the Consultative Assembly that drafted the 1992 constitution of Ghana, a former Anlo MP and until his death was the Board Chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
The NDC China appreciates the numerous roles he has played for the people of Anlo as an MP and the NDC party, especially in the 2004 and 2008 General Elections which enabled the NDC to win power from the NPP government. Though from afar, we have monitored his work for the NDC and mother Ghana. The late Squadron leader Clend Sowu’s recent call on the party hierarchy, supporters and all members of the great NDC family to unite, devoid of factions towards the 2012 elections is a call in the right direction and we shall strive to achieve this unity.
The mass wealth of knowledge and rich experience he had gathered over the years in his political life, notably monitoring of General Elections is going to be a great lose for the NDC. NDC has indeed lost a great member and a patriot.
As we offer our condolences, we mourn with the bereaved family for the great lost of such an illustrious son of Ghana. In this difficult time, you must remember that you are not alone but all Ghanaians especially the NDC fraternity mourns with you.
May the great Almighty God grant him eternal resting place.
Signed
Isaac K. Mensah
Interim Deputy Sec/Organizer NDC China
