NDC Chairman defects to NPP

Drobo (B/A), Sept. 23, GNA – Mr. Kwadwo Oppong Kyei, NDC Chairman in Dodosuo in the Jaman District of Brong Ahafo has defected to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He announced his defection at an NPP delegates’ conference at Drobo in the Jaman South constituency.

Mr. Kyei, popularly called T.O., said his switch to the NPP “is not for any selfish gains or interests but for the fact that the NPP government has been fair in the distribution of the national cake”.

He cited his own community, an NDC stronghold, which he claimed had seen a number of development projects under President Kufuor’s administration.

The defector said he was highly impressed by the transparency with which the NPP Government was ruling the country and appealed for forgiveness from anyone he might have wronged whilst in the NDC.

“I was then in darkness so forgive me”, he said.

Welcoming him, Mr. Appraku Tanor, NPP constituency secretary, urged the delegates to forget about the past and embrace Mr. Kyei.
