NDC cautioned against post-Botchwey committee survey

Former President John Mahama has cautioned members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to ignore any individual who attempts to undertake a supposed post survey of the Kwesi Botchwey report, on his behalf.

According to a statement signed by the special aide to the former President, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, some members of the umbrella family are going round soliciting information from party executives under the guise of working for Mr Mahama.

“The Office of John Dramani Mahama wishes to inform all members, supporters and sympathisers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the former President has not constituted any team to undertake a post Kwesi Botchwey Committee survey.

“We have over the last week received reports from across the country about the activities of some members of the party seeking to solicit information from executives and members of the NDC, claiming that they are being sponsored by the Office of John Dramani Mahama,” the statement said.

It concluded: “We wish to strongly advise them to desist from such acts of impersonation and misinformation, particularly as we all continue to work towards reorganising the party across the country.”

Mr Mahama, who was defeated in the 2016 elections by now President Akufo-Addo, is yet to declare whether he will contest the NDC flagbearership in 2018.
