NDC-Canada’s Statement On Death Of Mills

NDC-Canada’s Statement On Death Of President John Evans Atta Mills, July 25, 2012

We have learnt with great regret the surprised and saddened passing of President John Evans Atta Mills of Ghana. On behalf of NDC-Canada, I would like to extend our deepest condolences to President Mills’ immediate family and to all Ghanaians on occasion of this sudden.

We in NDC-Canada shall forever remember our interactions with President Mills throughout the years as the leader of our great party the NDC. We remember vividly his most recent State visit to Ottawa, Canada on November 17, 2011, the dinner we shared together and the private meeting we had with him and the entire Presidential delegation during their visit to Canada.
President Mills has dedicated his life to promoting his Better Ghana Agenda which in only three-and-half years has led to a total transformation of Ghana resulting in the improvement in the lives of the Ghanaian people.
He has changed the culture of opulence at the Presidency of Ghana. He at all times in his public life demonstrated God fearing, selfless and humble leadership which is unprecedented. During his tenure as President of Ghana, we have deepened partnerships with the international community leading to unprecedented economic development of our people and the promotion of good governance, social justice and opportunities for generations today and yet to come. He was also a strong leader and a man who believes in principles.
On this occasion, I will like to reaffirm NDC-Canada’s commitment towards building a Better Ghana Agenda for which President Mills has dedicated his life and we pray for God’s guidance for President John Dramani Mahama.

We in NDC-Canada would like to suggest that the Volta University of Health and Allied Sciences started by President Mills be renamed after President John Evans Atta Mills. Our prayers and thoughts are with the people of Ghana during this difficult period of national lost.
May God Bless Our Nation Ghana.

Signed

Charles Nkansah
(Secretary)
