NDC calls on supporters to remain calm

Mr Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Campaign Coordinator for President John Dramani Mahama on Saturday appealed to all supporters who were given another opportunity to vote on Saturday as a result of the malfunctioning verification machines to remain calm.

“We want to appeal to all NDC supporters to remain calm and carry out their constitutional mandate while the Electoral Commission rectifies some of the challenges they faced yesterday.”

Mr Ankrah who announced this in a press conference in Accra also appealed to the Electoral Commission to expedite action on the provision of functioning machines to enable all those who could not exercise their franchise to do so.

He said :”At the end of the day, God will speak, and Ghana will continue to be peaceful among her peers in the African continent,” the Coordinator concluded.

Mr Ankrah, who is also a Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development called on all stakeholders to play their roles responsibly to ensure another successful and peaceful general election.
