The opposition National Democratic Congress is battling against time to meet the Electoral Commission?s deadline for the filing of nominations for the Odododiodio by-election.

The party is yet to decide on a candidate for the contest.

Internal wrangling over the disqualification of one of the candidates vying for the party?s slot held up the selection of the candidate.

But just when the party was about to make up its mind, a writ filed at an Accra High Court threw the whole process into more chaos.

Leaders of the party met for more than five hours yesterday but they could not agree on how to resolve the crisis.

Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Baba Jamal, is however optimistic that the situation will be resolved to enable to party meet the Electoral Commission?s deadline.

The NDC is also trying to impress on the mystery man who filed the writ against the nomination of Walid Laryea as the party?s candidate.
