NDC assists supporters to travel home to exercise their franchise

Some supporters and sympathisers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions resident in the Brong-Ahafo Region on Wednesday converged at the Party’s Secretariat in Sunyani to be conveyed home to exercise their franchise on Friday, December 7.

Mr Justice Samuel Adjei, Brong-Ahafo Regional Secretary for the NDC speaking to the Ghana News Agency, said most of them were porters and traders working in the Region.

He said they had complained to the Secretariat that they were party activists, supporters and sympathisers who registered in their constituencies but had no money to travel home to exercise their franchise for the party.

Mr Adjei said since elections were won with numbers, the Secretariat had no option than to mobilise some funds to hire buses to convey them to their destination to cast their ballot.

At the precincts of the Secretariat some of them were seen boarding hired Metro Mass Transit buses to convey them home to exercise their franchise.

However, Mr Adjei did not say whether the party would send them back to continue their work in the Region or they would stay back home.
