Kumasi, Dec 14, GNA – The death is reported of Mr. Sylvester Akakpovi, popularly known as Sly, at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi after a short illness.
Mr Akakpovi, who died on December 12, was the Executive Secretary of Voltarian Co-ordinating Council (VCC) in the Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo regions and a one time Ashanti Regional Secretary of National Democratic Congress.
A statement issued on Friday by the VCC said a wife and six children survive the deceased who was a pharmacist and a lawyer. The one-week celebration will be observed on December 19 from 0600 to 1800 hours at Kumasi Anloga in the palace of Mawufeame Fugah.
