Nchiraa (B/A), Oct 20, GNA – The people of Nchiraa near Wenchi has ended the celebration of their one- week Fofie Yam Festival with a durbar.
In her address the Queen Mother of Nchiraa Nana Twumwaa Sakyiwaa Ampaabeng III called on the people to form virgins club in the area to avoid contracting HIV/AIDS.
She called on the people to avoid pre-marital sex leading to teenage pregnancy and HIV/AIDS.
Nana Twumwaa-Sakyiwaa Ampaabeng urged the youth to promote girl child and boy child education to raise the fallen standard of education in the area.
She said the results of Basic Education Certificate Examination are disheartening and urged the school children in the area to take their studies seriously.
