NCCE organizes quiz competition for schools

The Agona West Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organized quiz competition on the national constitution and current affairs for five Senior High schools in the Central Region.

The schools are Potsin T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High, at Gomoa East, Swedru School of Business (SWESBUS) in Agona West, Odoben Senior High, Breman Asikuma Senior High both in Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District and Swedru Senior High School.

Addressing the students and teachers, Mr Kwame Acquah, Agona West Municipal Director of NCCE, said the winner of the competition will represent the area in Cape Coast. Mr Acquah expressed the hope that the competition will enable the students to study the constitution and also understand the system of governance in the country.

He said it was important for students to read more about the constitution because they are the future leaders and appealed to parents and guardians to encourage them to develop keen interests on issues concerning the development of the country.

The copies of abridged constitution were distributed to the students. Odoben Senior High School emerged winner with 48 points.
