NCCE official expresses concern about upsurge of indiscipline

Twumkrom (B/A), Dec. 21 GNA – Mr Michael Sachie Abina, an Administrative Officer at the Dormaa District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), at the weekend expressed concern about the upsurge of indiscipline among the youth in the country. He noted that the problem has resulted in low productivity, under-development, insecurity, and poverty and called on the government to intensify efforts at reversing the trend.

Mr Abina was speaking at an educational programme organised by the commission under the theme “Indiscipline and the sustenance of constitutional democracy” at separate functions at Taforo, Abonstrakrom and Twumkrom in the Dormaa District.

It was aimed at educating the public on the need for ensuring discipline among the people, especially the youth for development. Mr Abina said discipline was key to enhancing democracy and appealed to all stakeholders to join the crusade against indiscipline initiated by the Vice-President Alhaji Aliu Mahama. The participants asked the government to instil discipline in state officials saying, “It is when this is done that they can also continue to instil discipline in other Ghanaians”.

They also expressed dissatisfaction about the portrayal of immorality, obscenity and pornography in the media especially the radio and television stations and appealed to the authorities to censor or chancel such programmes.
