NCCE intensifies education on re-denomination

Ejisu (Ash), June 13, GNA- The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Ejisu-Juaben district has intensified its educational campaign on the re-denomination of the cedi, targeting almost all the educational institutions in the district. The programme mainly centred on the conversion from the old to the new currency.

The pupils and students were also taught how to identify signs and features as well as the security marks of the new currency. The aim for organising the campaign in the schools was to educate the pupils and students who would in turn teach their parents and other relatives who are not literate to avoid being cheated by unscrupulous persons.

At the Ejisu junior secondary school, Mr Kwabena Abayie Yeboah, Civic Education Officer at the NCCE, appealed to teachers to use part of their instructional time to educate the students on the conversion of the currencies.
