NCCE, chiefs commended for supporting voters’ registration exercise

Breman Asikuma (C/R), May 18, GNA – The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Chief Executive, Mr John Kweku Addai, has commended the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the chiefs of the area for ensuring a high patronage of the voters’ registration exercise.

He told the Ghana News Agency at Breman Asikuma on Wednesday that the Commission and the chiefs made extra efforts to encourage the people to register due to the inadequate publicity given to the exercise in the district.

“Had it not been to the efforts of the chiefs and the District Secretariat of the Commission, the voters’ revision exercise would have been a flop,” he added. He urged the political parties to take interest in future exercises and assist in educating the people to participate in them.

“We all have a stake in ensuring that democracy thrives in this country,” he stated.
