Nayiri enskins son as chief of Kparigu

Nalerigu N/R, March 11, GNA – The Nayiri, Naa Bohugu Mahami Abudulai, Paramount Chief of Mamprugu Traditional Area and President of the Northern Regional House of Chiefs, has enskinned his 37-year-old son, Sugri Mahami, as chief of Kparigu.

He was enskinned as “Kpanaba” under the skin name of Kpana Maribila and succeeds his uncle, Kpana Nantoma Abudulai, who died last year at the age of 96.

Swearing the oath of allegiance to the Nayiri, Kpanaa Maribila said he would seek the co-operation and advice of the people to promote peace and progress in the area.

He said: “I will open my doors to all and welcome any advice that will help promote development in the area”. Kpanaa Maribila, a farmer, said he would also focus on agriculture and organise groups to solicit loans from the district assemblies. The Nayiri advised the new chief to respect the opinion of the elders and listen to their advice to ensure peace and development in the area. 11 March 05
